Four killed, nine injured in J&K road accident

Samba: Late night yesterday, a tragic accident occurred claiming four lives and injuring 9 on the Pathankot- highway, officials said on Sunday.

“A trailer en-route Jammu from Kathua turned turtle in Samba chowk on the Pathankot-Jammu national highway on Saturday night at around 9.00 p.m.,” a senior police official told.

“It hit several pedestrians, vehicles and shops along the highway. Two vehicles were completely crushed under the trailer.”

A truck on its way from Kathua to Jammu lost control at Main Chowk, Samba before hitting the pedestrians, other vehicles, rehris and shops along the National Highway, at least four persons were killed while nine others including an 18-month girl child were injured in the incident.

As per reports, at least four persons were killed two of them on the spot while nine others including a female baby got injured in the mishap.

The injured were shifted to District Hospital Samba from where eight of them were referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu. The dead bodies of the deceased, were shifted to mortuary of District Hospital Samba.
