Basantgarh, Feb 20
A meeting of NPP unit of Tehsil Basantgarh was held under the Chairmanship of Abdul Rashid Wani, its Tehsil President to pay homage to the CRPF Jawans who attained martyrdom in Pulwama attack. Paying rich tributes to the brave hearts, the meeting expressed solidarity with the bereaved families and offered prayers for peace to the departed souls. Urging upon the people to maintain communal harmony and brotherhood, Abdul Rashid Wani said that terrorism had no religion and needed to be unequivocally condemned. “People of all faiths and religious beliefs needed to join hands to fight the disruptive forces which were out to divide people on communal lines. And all these who were promoting hatred and tensions in the name of religion needed to be opposed and exposed, said Rashid Wani. He said that the families of the martyrs needed not only consolation but were the sole responsibility of the govt in view of the supreme sacrifices of these Jawans. Lamenting the non-release of full ex-gratia in favour of martyr Imran Tak of Basantgarh who laid down his life while fighting militants in Kashmir in November 2017, Abdul Rashid Wani regretted that even the SRO-43 case of the NOK of martyred Sub Inspector was not settled despite the lapse of more than 15 months. He regretted that the announcement of “Shaurya Chakra” to the braveheart also proved fake. The meeting deplored the total neglect of Imran Tak's family by the central as well as state govt as none had bothered to visit the family of national hero who had killed one militant and injured another before succumbing to his injuries in a fierce gun battle with enemies of the nation. Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion included Bashir Ahmed, Sagar Chand, Balwant Singh, Rattan Chand, Mohd Sadiq, Mohd Maqbool, Abdul Latif Tak, Ghulam Hussain, Baldev Chand, Yog Raj Karlopia, Mohd Amin, Mansa Ram, Gulshan Singh, Bahadur Singh, Sita Ram, Kuldip Kumar, Pritam Singh, Joginder Kumar, Baldev Singh, Mohan Lal, Kewal Kumar.
