Round the clock bus service for Yatris soon: MoS

, JULY 17- Minister of State for Transport Sunil Kumar Sharma today visited Shri Amarnathji Yatra Niwas at Bhagwati Nagar and took stock of the arrangements for stay and transportation of Yatris.

Interacting with the pilgrims, the Minister said the Government has made elaborate arrangements for smooth conduct of Yatra.  He said the Government has made arrangements for plying of buses round-the-clock for the convenience of pilgrims. He said special bus service would also be started for transportation of Yatris for onward journey to cave and return. He also urged upon the private transporters to play their role in this regard.

The Minister directed the concerned for ensuring   adequate number of buses so that the registered pilgrims are transported for onward journey  to the Holy Cave  and  back from the base camps of Pahalgam and Baltal.

Underlining the need for ensuring better facilities for the Yatris, the Minister also called upon the concerned for ensuring proper cleanliness and sanitation at the Yatri Bhawan.

Chairing a meeting of officers of Transport Department, the Minister got first hand appraisal of the arrangements put in place by the department for the transportation of Shri Amarnathji Yatris from Jammu. He directed the concerned for opening of counters at various places for the convenience of Yatris.
