Leh, July 14, 2023: A delegation comprising elected members/ representatives from Nubra Sub-Division led by Deputy Chairman, LAHDC Leh, Tsering Angchuk, called on the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, BD Mishra, at Raj Niwas.
Angchuk raised several issues related to the Nubra sub-division, viz. the pending work on the construction of nullahs due to lack of funds; the power/electricity issues faced by the people of Nubra residing in Disket, especially hoteliers and owners of other commercial establishments due to supply of only eight hours of electricity each day; the need to expedite the 3MW solar power project in Nubra; the non-payment of salaries of the outsourced nurses; the need to expedite the exercise of rationalisation of boundaries of the Karakoram Wildlife Sanctuary, etc.
LG asked the delegates to meet him again with the issues so that he can discuss these matters with his Advisor and other officials for the redressal of their issues.
Another delegation from Kargil led by Sajjad Hussain Kargili called on the Lt Governor.
Sajjad raised several issues, including the need for a trauma centre between Zoji-La Pass and Khaltse sub-division to address emergency cases; the delay in the procurement of CT Scan/MRI machine for the District Hospital at Kargil; the repatriation of employees from Kargil who are still working at Sher-I-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Srinagar; the regularisation of physical education teachers (PETs) engaged under Rehbar-e-Khel scheme; the posting of female police personnel to their home district; sanctioning of office space for Great Ladakh publication, etc.
LG assured to look into the issue of Kargil Hospital and the repatriation of employees from Kargil still working at SKIMS. He asked the editor of Greater Ladakh along with Sajjad to meet the Chairman of LAHDC Kargil regarding the allotment of office space for the publication.
