A Grand Gurmat Samagam was organized by Santpura Danna Charitable trust at Gurudwara Sri Guru Arjun Dev ji, in the memory of Sant Gurbaksh Singh Ji Danna, under the patronage of Sant Tejwant Singh, Dera Mukhi, Santpura Danna. The programme was organized with the cooperation of Joginder Singh Bali and Updesh Kour Bali (Hong Kong Waley), Baldev Singh, CEO Peaks Auto Ltd and STS Wazir, Ex MLC and Chairman, J&K Gurudwara Prabhandak Board. Charanjit Singh Khalsa, BJP MLC, Surjit Singh, ex-Member DGPC, Fateh Singh, Member DGPC and Surinder Singh (Advocate) also addressed the Sangat. Raman Bhalla (Ex-Minister), Ajay Sadotra (Ex-Minister) and Tarlochan Singh Wazir threw light on the life and achievements of Sant Gurbaksh Singh Ji Danna. They said that Sant Ji was a revolutionary person and spiritual upright personality who spread the message of peace, universal brotherhood and Sikhism. Baldev Singh briefed the Sangat about the mission and vision of Sant Gurbaksh Singh Ji and the achievements of
SGSD International School, established on the name of Sant Ji, in a short span of two years only. The students of SGSD International School recited Shabad, Kirtan and also paid homage to Sant Gurbaksh Singh Ji Danna. Ragi Jathas of Ravinder Singh ji, Amarpreet Singh ji, Jagir Singh, Sahib and Parvinder Singh recited Shabad Kirtans. Giani Bachitter Singh Ji, Head, Granthi Gurudwara Sri Bangla Sahib, while reciting Gurbani, said that teachings and principles of the great tenth Guru are more relevant today and can be helpful in bringing peace in the whole world. Balvinder Singh, president, Sikh Progressive Front, while addressing the Sangat, criticized the Centre Government for providing Prime Minister employment packages for unemployed non-migrant Kashmiri Pandits only vide SRO NO 425, but not to the non-migrant unemployed Kashmiri Sikh youths, which is a great injustice to the Sikh Community. He also urged upon the Government to pay adequate compensation to the victims of 1989 anti-Sikh riots and pay 100% compensation for the damages of their properties.
