DDC reviews const of border bunkers

District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Mohammad Aijaz Asad today convened a meeting with the officers to initiate the construction of bunkers along the LoC and finalised the arrangements for construction of additional 200 bunkers.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri Sher Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Nowshera, Sukhdev Singh Samayal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sunderbani, Vinod Bhel, SE PWD, EXN, REW, PWD, officers from , and Rural Development Department.
Pertinently the Government has recently sanctioned additional 200 bunkers for the border areas of the district Rajouri.
The DDC asked the officers to provide a list of schools, health institutions and other areas falling in the range of 0-3 KMs which have not been covered in already identified locations. He directed the concerned to complete the process of identification of land and hand over locations for construction of bunkers at the earliest.
The DDC asked the Additional Deputy Commissioners to submit the locations where the new individual and community bankers to be constructed.
A total of 5196 bunkers are being constructed in 7 blocks along the 120 KM long stretch of Line of Control. These include Sunderbani, Qila Drahal, Nowshera, Doongi, Rajouri, Panjgrain and Manajakote. All these bunkers are in different phases of executions.
The DDC informed that every family residing in 0-3 KM range from LoC and are left uncovered will be provided an individual family bunker while community bunkers will be strictly constructed near Schools and Hospitals.
DDC directed the Rural Development Department to start the work on these individual bunkers and complete them within one month.
To ensure the quality, DDC constituted a team under the supervision of ADDC Rajouri. The committee will monitor the work and submit the report weekly.
