Separatists rake up Kathua incident to prove their relevance

Tawi, January 12 (KIP):- Separatists in wait for an
opportunity for registering their presence. These separatists wait
for incidents anywhere in the for inciting people to violence.

And the recent attack on Gujjar Muslims in Kathua has come handy to
the separatists to trigger protests in the valley. The issue was
raised in the Assembly too where the opposition members alleged that
activists of RSS and the BJP had attacked Gujjar Muslims, torched
their houses and some of them were beaten up. The opposition members
demanded action against the attackers and filing of police cases
against them. The matter had ended there.

But the separatists try to use the incident for registering their
relevance. Though they have issued instructions to people to stage
peaceful protest demonstrations on Friday against the Kathua attacks,
police believe that protesters may try to derail peace by indulging in
violence. The united separatist leadership  has  strongly condemned
the attack on Muslims in Kathua and appealed to  people to stage
peaceful protests after Friday prayers on January 13 as a mark of
solidarity with the victims of vandalism and highhandedness of fascist
forces in Jammu.

In a joint statement, Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and
Mohammad Yasin Malik said the Muslims are living under the stigma of
fear psychosis for the last 70 years as their ancestors have been
“butchered mercilessly” and since then they are brutalized,
traumatized and throttled on one pretext or the other.

But the situation in Jammu and Kashmir is quite opposite to what
the separatists allege. In Kashmir  non-Muslims were thrown out in
1990 after a few hundred Pandits were killed. And Muslims in Kashmir
alone have been taking part in Pakistan's proxy war against in
Jammu and Kashmir. Majority of Muslim youth in Kashmir have become
militants and this way have invited hatred against the community.

Let people in Kashmir work for peace and discard the appeals being
made by separatists.(KIP)
