Tawi, Jan 17: Opposition Conference here on Tuesday created a pandemonium over deepening power crisis in Kashmir triggered by the recent snowing and finally walked out in protest from the assembly.

As soon as the assembly proceedings started National Conference legislators raised the issue of power crisis in Kashmir and started shooting slogans against the government.

Responding to the opposition cries against the deepening power crisis the Deputy Chief Minister holding the port folio of power department told the agitating NC members that power was restored in just 2 days when first snowfall disrupted essential services including power in Valley.

“The power development department functionaries are working overtime on ground to restore the power crisis at the earliest”, he said.

However opposition members did not stop protesting against the power crisis and continued crying in the house the deputy chief minister said “this is a natural calamity. And it will take time to restore the power supply in Kashmir”, he said.

The NC members were not satisfied with the response from the deputy chief minister and walked out in protest from the assembly.
