US Trade Agency Approves Grant to Develop Integrated Aviation Hub at Hisar Airport, Haryana

The integrated aviation hub planned for Hisar Airport in Haryana received a significant boost recently. At the ongoing US- Aviation Summit in Washington DC, the US Trade Development Agency (USTDA) announced it has approved grant funding to help create the new integrated hub.

Enoh T Ebong, director of the USTDA, said the grant would support technical assistance to develop airport cargo and logistics infrastructure. This aims to strengthen India's supply chain network by creating a modernized facility at Hisar. The Haryana Airports Development Corporation will partner with a US firm selected by the USTDA to oversee the project.

When completed, the integrated aviation hub is envisioned to bring various aviation services under one roof. This includes air cargo handling, maintenance repairs and overhaul facilities, aviation training centers and more. The goal is a state-of-the-, one-stop-shop for all aviation needs to boost the region's .

Speaking at the summit, Ebong noted the USTDA currently supports around 10 aviation projects across India. However, she expressed hopes to expand cooperation given the potential of the partnership. Both countries stand to gain from leveraging their shared strengths in innovation and entrepreneurship.

With Hisar Airport set to serve as a key transport hub linking North India to the , the integrated hub could be transformational. If successfully realized with US expertise, it may establish Haryana as a new aviation force to be reckoned with. Only time will tell if the big plans for Hisar Airport truly take flight. But with the US onboard, the wings of progress are set for lift-off.
