Pulwama, June 20: Terrorists on Tuesday night attacked headquarters of 180 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) battalion camp in Tral located in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. Some reports suggest that the terrorists hurled two grenades on the headquarters of 180 battalion camp of the CRPF and then opened fire on security forces. So far there are no reports of any casualties at the CRPF camp and some reports suggest that the terrorists managed to flee from the spot. The area has been cordoned off.
On Tuesday afternoon, Jammu and Kashmir police officials received four hand grenades and two magazines from Srinagar's Baba Demb area after which investigation is underway.
The security forces on Tuesday evening have launched a search and cordon operation at Pazal Pora area of Sopore's in north Kashmir's Baramullah district. A report that appeared in India Today said that a joint team of 22 Rashtriya Rifles, CRPF and SOG laid a siege at Pazalpora Village this evening.
At the time when this report was filed the cordon and search operation was still underway by the security forces.
Meanwhile, some reports suggest that the authorities have directed telecom companies to shut down mobile towers in Baramulla and Sopore with immediate effect. The services of BSNL are still functioning in the Valley.
