Ten youth shunned path of violence so far: DGP

Srinagar, Jan 02 (KNS): Director General of Police (DGP) S P Vaid on Tuesday said that at least ten youth shunned the path of violence so far and has joined their families back.

Talking to KNS over phone, DGP termed the return of youth as the ‘big success for the people'.

He said that seven youth had shunned the path of violence earlier and now three more youth joined their families today.

“It is good that the youth are joining their families again as it is Pakistan who is creating the violence here,” he said, adding that the returning of the youth is not the success for the Police but for the people here.

Earlier, DGP in his tweet said that in response of the call of their families, another three young boys came back their homes. “Another 3 young boys in valley came back home in response to the call of their families. God bless them,” DGP tweeted.

Pertinently, and Police and other security forces have been appealing the local militants to “surrender and join back mainstream”.

The of the families of local militants also went viral on the social networking sites, appealing their dear ones to join them again.

The Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti had also asked the police personnel to ensure the surrender of more militants.

She had also announced doubling the reward money for those who get militants to surrender. (KNS)
