Tawi, May 1: In yet another incident of car hijacking, three suspects snatched a passenger taxi from the driver and fled away in Kathua district of Jammu and .

 

“The Tavera vechicle was hired by three suspects late last night from BC Road area of Jammu and was snatched by them at Chadwal on Jammu-Pathankot highway in Kathua district at around 0130 hrs,” Pawan Parihar, SSP Kathua here told UNI. He said that the suspects are still untraced but police is on job. “Security has been tightened while alert has also been sounded,” said the top cop. This car hijacking incident is fourth in a month on the highway.

 

“The snatchers took away the money and also the mobile phone of the driver,” police said. “We are working on different theories to ascertain the facts,” they added. “It was white colour Tavera bearing no JK12-8355,” they said.

 

The driver namely Kabir Hussain, resident of Bigwara, Rajouri, rushed to nearby police post and narrated about the incident. “Either it could be a handiwork of drug addicts or thieves but militancy connection also cannot be ruled out,” police said. Pertinent to mention here that Indo-Pak border in 30 to 35 kilometres far from the national highway.
