Ramesh Kumar assumes office as DC Jammu

Ramesh Kumar today chaired series of meetings after assuming office as Deputy Commissioner Jammu. Earlier, he took the charge from outgoing DC, Kumar Rajeev Ranjan.
The newly appointed DC took a comprehensive review of mega projects including Bus Stand Commercial Complex, Jammu-Akhnoor (NH-144) 4-laning project and Jammu Ring Road.
The DC sought detailed status of Jammu-Akhnoor (NH-144) 4-laning project and instructed the concerned authorities and the executing agencies to expedite the work on the prestigious project. He also reviewed the status of land acquisition and forest clearance for the project. He further took a detailed review of progress with regard to the execution of Rs 1891.12 crore Jammu Ring Road project. Reviewing the progress of General Bus Stand Multi-level Car parking-cum-commercial complex project, the DC asked the officers and executing agencies to synergize their efforts to complete the work in stipulated time frame. The DC also assessed the preparedness of concerned departments ahead of the monsoon and directed them to gear up their men and machinery to meet any emergency situation. The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the progress made under various central and state sponsored welfare schemes. He instructed the concerned functionaries to make sure that the benefits under the welfare schemes reach to the eligible beneficiaries.
Emphasizing on optimum utilization of available resources, the DC instructed for regular monitoring of the development works to ensure meeting of quality norms and stressed on time bound completion of the projects.
Later, the DC chaired a meeting of the Revenue officers and emphasized on expediting the land acquisition process for various mega projects. He also directed them to expedite the disbursement of compensation for Ring road project.
Stressing on the need to keep close check on encroachment of government land, the DC warned that the officer concerned will be held responsible for the violations.
The meetings were attended by ADDC Jabeen ,ADCs Kanta Devi, Arun Manhas, SDMs, Tehsildars besides other officers of the concerned departments.
