J&K reports 637 fresh Covid cases, one death

Tawi, Aug 11: Jammu and Kashmir Thursday reported 637 fresh cases of Covid-19, pushing the number of active cases to 4,893 while one more death was reported in the UT in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 4,777.

Among 637 new cases, 525 belong to Kashmir division while 112 to Jammu division.

He said that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir have reached to 299,137 including 292,735 recoveries and 2,431 deaths, while total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 172,874 including 169,606 recoveries and 2,346 deaths.

He further said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 4,893 including 3,971 from Kashmir division and 670 from Jammu division.

With 670 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in J&K has reached to 462,341 which is 97.96 percent of the total cases.

“Among the fresh 637 cases today, 174 are from Srinagar, 178 from Baramulla, 58 from Budgam, 22 from Pulwama 28 from Kupwara, 16 from Anantnag, 09 from Bandipora, 06 from Ganderbal, 32 from Kulgam and 02 from Shopian in Kashmir division while 112 are from Jammu division that include 65 from Jammu district, 03 from Udhampur, 05 from Rajouri, 11 from Doda, 03 from Kathua , 04 from Samba, 13 from Kishtwar, 02 from Poonch, 06 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” said the official.

As per the daily information bulletin 6,699,817 persons in J&K are under observation while 139 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides 4,893 persons are in isolation.
