Jammu Tawi, Sep 21: The Jammu for India (JFI) today held meeting to discuss the political situation, New Delhi's Kashmir and Pakistan policy and its impact on J&K. Hundreds of concerned citizens drawn from all walks of life participated in the meeting. Advocates, students and social workers were present in strength, where it was decided to set up JFI's branches in different parts of Jammu.
Addressing the meeting, Prof Hari Om, convener of JFI, said that the land of Dogras was our Punya Bhumi and the JFI will not only fight for its unity and integrity but will also defeat all those who were subverting the polity both from within and outside.
We will not allow Kashmiri Jihadis to implement their sinister agenda in the Jammu province; we will defeat them, as we are not a small community. We are a 6-million strong community and we are capable of defending ourselves, our land and the nation in J&K,” said Prof Hari Om. He added that it was time for all the people of Jammu province, Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Jains and Christians included, and refugees from POJK, Pakistan and Kashmir to get united and get prepared for a full-scale movement against the enemies of the nation and Jammu province.
He also said that it would be suicidal to depend on the Indian political class and Union Government and added that “we 6 million people have to fend for ourselves as the Indian political class and New Delhi is on the other side”.
Dr Ajay Chrungoo, Panun Kashmir leader and JFI's founder member lambasted the Indian political class and New Delhi for their indifferent attitude toward the nationalists in the state and for pampering those who hated and despised India. He said “New Delhi has everything in its kitty for Islamists and nothing for the nationalists”. He questioned the military and foreign policy of the Government of India and said that while the military policy was one of reaction and consequences management, its foreign policy was one retreat. He said India was the only country where nationalists were ridiculed and separatists were appeased.
Adv Deewakar Sharma said there was the need to have an effective civil society group in Jammu, which should educate Delhi about the danger facing the people of Jammu province. “We have to speak in one voice like Kashmiri leaders of all hues do,” he said, and added that “we must unite and speak in one voice in an effective manner so that Delhi comes to know that Kashmir is not the entire state and the Kashmiri people not the entire population of the state”.
Advo Ankur Sharma, who has exposed many through his PILs, said the it was an ideological war going on in Kashmir and the JFI must defeat it through nationalist ideology. He said many undesirable NGOs had become quite active in the state, including in Jammu, which were playing havoc with the national interest.
Advo Pushpinder Singh Manhas, Ajaat Shatru Jamwal, Rajesh Dutta, student leader Vikram Singh and many others also addressed the meeting and all stressed the need for unity. Pushpinder invoked the history of the Dogras and urged everyone present there to follow in the footsteps of their heroes. Dheeraj Pargal, Organizing Secretary, conducted the proceedings.
