High alert in Haridwar, Dehradun after bag with Punjab police uniforms recovered

Haridwar: In a major development, a high alert was sounded in Haridwar and Dehradun on Wednesday after finding an abandoned bag containing 3 uniforms of Police.

Also, police officials are conducting checks in Manglaur (Haridwar) area.

“We are suspecting that the uniforms could be of the ones who helped gangsters escape from the Nabha jail recently,” said Manikant Mishra, SP.

“We have maintained alert, especially in Haridwar and Dehradun, to keep a check on mischief by anti-social elements,” DGP of Uttarakand MA Ganapathy said.

“Uniforms have tailoring marks from Ludhiana; have sent a team there to check and enquire who got it stitched,” DGP Uttarakhand MAGanapathy added.
