GMC scuttles probe into missing ACs
Jammu Tawi, August 31: In a rather shocking event, about eight Air conditioner units were reportedly stolen from the premises of Government Medical College, Jammu.
The authorities reported theft in its drugstore to the Police.
Sources said that the store is locked but the contents inside the store are stolen. Since a complaint has been made to the police, the Hospital Administration has also come under the police scanner.
GMC Hospital administration itself lodged a complaint at the Bakhshi Nagar Police Station that on Monday midnight, unknown people stole eight air conditioners and wiring from the store. When the police reached the spot to further investigate into the matter, the store was locked from the outside.
As the police asked for the store to be opened, the hospital administration refused entry to the team inside the store. The team had gone to the hospital to find evidence using FSL but the hospital's administration did not allow that.
Bakshi Nagar, SHO Ashwini Sharma told the media persons that the theft had happened on Monday night but the information regarding the same was given to police late on Tuesday evening. He also said that the hospital administration itself has destroyed all evidence and has locked the store deliberately to disrupt the investigation on purpose.
