DC launches VVIP for upcoming elections

District Election Officer, Rahul Yadav, today launched the Voter Verification and Information Programme (VVIP) for upcoming General Elections 2019.
The DEO said Election Commission of has launched this programme for the citizens for verification of their names, new registrations, changes in the voters' details and corrections in the voter I cards for the upcoming general elections 2019. He also highlighted that a voter helpline number “1950” has been made functional in the district to facilitate the voters.
DEO said that the main objective of Election Commission of India is to make the election more inclusive by using latest . In this regard, he made a mention of android app cVIGIL, which will provide time stamped, evidence-based proof of violation of model code of conduct if any. The app has the ability to capture live photo/video with auto location data and any citizen can lodge a complaint through this app.
DEO further informed that a new app called PwD App has also been launched to enable the persons with disabilities enjoy comfortable and convenient voting. The Person with Disabilities (PwD) voters now can request for registration, change in address, change in particulars and can mark themselves as PwD through the use of this mobile app. The PwD voter can also request for the wheelchair at his polling station through this app.
