Can go to any extent to fight anti-nationals: Jammu Bar

Tawi, July 11: The lawyers today suspended the work in all the Courts throughout Jammu Province as protest against the terror attack on the Amarnath Yatris in and to express solidarity with the victims of terrorism and reiterate commitment to the nation.

The members of the association on Tuesday staged a massive protest in and outside the Court complex against the killings of innocent Amarnath Yatris and took out a procession led by Prem Sadotra, General Secretary from Court complex to Main Janipur Road and held another massive demonstration in Janipur– Amphalla Road.

The delegation of J and K High Court Bar Association, Jammu headed by Sachin Gupta, Vice President also participated in the meeting of civil society called by Divisional Commissioner at Guest House, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.

The J and K High Court Bar Association declared that it could go to any extent and go to Kashmir to fight the anti-national forces and protect and advance the country's paramount national interest.

“We will not allow any further partition of on religious grounds,” the association members said.

President JKHCBA, Advocate B.S Slathia expressed concern over the order of State Human Commission directing the Jammu and Kashmir Govt. to pay Rs. 10 lakh to an over ground worker of the separatists and stated that such an order has all the potential of demoralizing the security forces and undermining the institution of the army, which is known the over as the most professional institution.

He said that the said order could promote the cult of stone pelting in Kashmir and hurt the national cause.

He demanded Rs. 25 lakh ex-gratia payment to each of the kin of martyred Yatris and Rs. 10 lakh each to those who were injured during the reign of orgy of death unleashed by terrorists.

Slathia condemned the attack as a dark spot on humanity. He further criticized the role of higher police administration for giving confusing statements about the incident only to cover up their failures by saying that bus was stray bus and was not registered with board.

The J and K High Court Bar Association, Jammu rejected as spurious the assertion of the vested interests in the administration that the bus carrying the Yatris was unregistered.

The J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu said it was just an attempt of the Govt to deflect the attention of the wounded nation from its utter failure to provide foolproof security to the Yatris.

Earlier, the office bearers of the association observed one minute silence to show solidarity with the victims of attack.

Wazir, Ajay Bakshi, Daljeet Singh Manhas President YLA, Ashish Kant Sharma, Atul Raina, Leena Devi,  Arjun Manhas, Rohit Gupta, Vinod Sharma, Pardeep Majotra Vice President YLA, Vishal Sadotra, Varun Kotwal, Arjun Mengi, Rohit Sharma and Tarun Dutta.
