Act fast to dilute the gap!

Encounters between militants and the security forces in the Kashmir valley have become regular features during the last over seven months. In fact it is the result of increase
in the number of local militants who have dominated the show following the killing of three armed militant including local one Burhan.

The external forces made the incident of Wani's killing to raised the passion and level of violence in Kashmir valley forcing the security forces to respond in
which so far over 100 people have been killed and a large number of
people injured.

While there is an escalation in militant attacks and ambushes, another trend that emerged in the valley is that the people converge into the operational field and obstruct the operations of security forces thus facilitating the terrorists to escape from the forces' cordon making the function of the armed forces more difficult.

These developments are not good for the state and central government as sense of distrust and hatred has increased in two main regions of Jammu and Kashmir.

As the forces were conducting the search operation, the hiding

Of the nearly 225 listed active militants in Kashmir, over 130 are locals,
the highest in recent years. Despite 100 militants from Pakistan and
Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) infiltrating into Kashmir last year,
security agencies call the domination by local militants a “worrying”
trend. Similar concern was expressed by the state's new DGP.

Nearly 90 recruits from various parts of the Valley, especially from
areas in south, joined militant ranks last year, helping the local
militants to dominate.

This trend cannot be allowed to go on and sooner some right steps are initiated to arrest the trend the better it would for the people of state and rest of the country.
