Rajouri, Jul 1: Security forces on Wednesday intensified search operations in the forested Dorimal area of the Gambhir Mughlan sector in Jammu and Kashmir‘s Rajouri district as the ongoing anti-terror mission, codenamed ‘Operation Sheruwali’, entered its 40th day.
The large-scale counter-terrorism operation is aimed at tracking down terrorists believed to be hiding in the dense forests of the Manjakote sector. Security personnel have maintained a strong presence across the rugged terrain while continuing coordinated search and surveillance operations with the support of advanced equipment.
Launched in late May, Operation Sheruwali is a multi-agency combing mission focused on locating and neutralising armed infiltrators suspected to be holed up in the mountainous Dorimal-Gambhir Mughlan forest belt.
Officials said all participating forces remain actively engaged in the operation, carrying out extensive searches to secure the area. They added that the operation will continue until all its objectives are achieved.
The prolonged operation underscores the security forces’ sustained efforts to eliminate the terror threat and maintain peace and security in the border district of Rajouri. (Agencies)
