277 vehicles seized for traffic offences in Jammu city
JAMMU, MAY 12: In a special drive launched in compliance to High Court directions, the Traffic Police, Jammu have seized 277 vehicles in last about one month for various offences including wrong parking.
As per official spokesperson, the special drive has been launched to comply with the directions of the of Jammu & Kashmir High court passed in OWP (PIL) No. 458/2003 dated 19.04.2017, regarding the menace of on-road parking of vehicles and subsequent in convenience caused to the people in general and pedestrians in particular.
During the special drive, Jammu City Traffic Police seized 126 vehicles for wrong parking 91 vehicles (U/S 207 M.V.Act) between 28.04.2017 to 11.05.2017
Around 81 private Cars and 45 commercial vehicles were seized for wrong parking and commercial vehicles 72, 4 private cars and 14 two wheelers were seized U/S 207 M V Act.
All commuters are advised not to park their vehicles on the road side and ensure parking of their vehicles at places designated for the purpose, in Jammu City.
