Says portfolio wasn't reason behind resignation

Srinagar, Feb 20: The aggrieved former Revenue Minister, Syed Basharat Bukhari who had tendered his resignation from the cabinet on Monday resumed the office and said that hope all the issues mentioned in the resignation has hopefully been resolved.

Bukhari said, “Yes, I resumed the office today. I met with the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti today and discuss all the issues not only vis-a-vis the letter citing resignation post reshuffle but also the communication which I had sent prior last month (January) and many more related to party affairs and the governmental issues as well.”

Rejecting the rumors that he had tendered his resignation over the issue of portfolio, Bukhari said, “No portfolio was not the issue but certain developments over the period were looming large there but now I hope everything goes well.”

Asking whether it was general discussion, Bukhari said, “No not general issues but very serious which have bearing on state. And also brought home the point how some people had been trying to destabilize the equations in the party.”

It is worth to mention here that the newly introduced party leader, Tassaduq Mufti had intervened to resolve the issues confronting between the aggrieved former Revenue Minister, Syed Basharat Bukhari with the party.

The Chief Minister and former revenue minister held an hour long discussion today at CM's residence to resolve the issues that led to the tendering of resignation.
