Aaya Ram Gaya Ram era sets in beginning in JK

Tawi, February 20 (KIP): With growing political and security
instability a new phase of Aaya Ram and Gaya Ram has surfaced in Jammu
and . If the PDP has lost Hameed Karra senior party leader and
Lok Sabha member who was welcomed in the Congress the PDP has hit back
and admitted Congress leader Nazir Ahmed Khan in the party.  For the
time being Karra may get the Congress ticket for contesting the Lok
Sabha election but this time PDP has nothing to give to Nazir Ahmed Khan.

Senior Congress leader Nazir Ahmad Khan has joined ruling
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Nazir joined the party in presence of
PDP president and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti. Welcoming Nazir into
the party fold, Mehbooba said he comes from a good political legacy
and is full of enthusiasm to work for the people of the area adding
his entry into the party is like a home coming for him.

She said the party needs young leaders like him to carry forward and
implement the agenda of the party which aims at bringing happiness and
prosperity back to the State.
Earlier, Vice President of PDP, Muhammad Sartaj Madni formally
welcomed Nazir Ahmad Khan and his supporters into the party fold.

Son of Muhammad Sarfaraz Khan, a long-time associate of late Mufti
Muhammad Sayeed and former Minister, Nazir Ahmad Khan has been in
active for the last two decades.

On the other hand Tariq Hameed  Karra, who as founder member of
the PDP, has joined the Congress indicates that the Congress had been
in a fix as to whom the party will give a ticket for contesting the
Lok Sabha election which has been  necessitated  by the resignation
of Karra last year. Karra had been elected to the Lok Sabha on the PDP
ticket and when he resigned from the Lok Sabha and from the PDP the
Congress had focused  its attention on Karra because till the joining
of  Karra in the party the Congress had no suitable candidate who
could  be  fielded by the Congress.

In the previous Lok Sabha election Hameed Karra had won the seat
despite a major challenge from the Conference. In fact in the
previous Lok Sabha election the NC had drawn a blank from the valley
despite its vote bank suffered no serious erosion in the state in the
previous Lok Sabha election and the Assembly election that preceded it
saw also PDP wave in Kashmir and the BJP wave in the region of Jammu.
Karra has made it clear that he resigned from the PDP and the Lok
Sabha in protest against the PDP forging an alliance with the BJP well
Karra had not been enthused by the alliance which he described as an
alliance of two ideologically different parties. In order to set the
stage for his win in the Lok Sabha election Karra has started blaming
the coalition for having let loose reign of terror against people. He
has blamed the PDP-BJP combine for jeopardizing peoples' safety,
security and in this context he has cited the seven month long
civilian strife in which about  hundred people were killed and scores
of others were injured including those who lost their eyes or were
maimed.(KIP)
