Anguished over the dilapidated condition of the land allotted by the JDA for the construction of indoor stadium at Bhagwati Nagar, a strong contingent of Young Panthers led by Mr. Tarseem Singh, District President Young Panthers, Bhanu Partap Gouria, Jammu West President, Young Panthers and Raghav Talwar, Zonal President, Young Panthers in the presence of Partap Singh, State Vice President Young Panthers staged a vociferous protest demonstration here in Jammu today. The angry protesters while raising slogans against the erstwhile coalition government and BJP in particular demanded immediate construction of the said stadium to promote sports culture in Jammu region. Addressing the media, Pratap Singh regretted that the land allotted for the indoor stadium at Bhagwati nagar has turned into a filthy place where the garbage of the adjacent areas are dumped to cause nuisance to the public health and hygiene. He said that the land was earmarked in 2014 for the said stadium but the erstwhile government remained lackadaisical towards encouraging recreational avenues for the local youth. Lambasting the BJP for its servile posturing before the PDP in the past four years, he said while the sports culture was promoted in the valley, Jammu region was despicably kept neglected and deprived of infrastructural facilities meant for encouraging sports.
On the occasion Tarseem Singh & Bhanu Partap Gouria lambasting the JDA for keeping the land in mess, they warned the agency to clean the land within a week or else Young Panthers would take an agitational course. They also urged the Governor to take serious cognizance of the proposal of the indoor stadium which has failed to see the light of the day. Arjun Suri, President Ward.14, Arun Mehra, Parshant Banot, Akash Bhatia, Hony Gupta, Rahul Kumar, President Ward No. 32, Ajay Singh, Sunil Kumar, Sheru Kumar, Sunny Singh, Vishal Kumar were present in the protest.
