Jammu, April 11: In a blatant breach of the ceasefire agreement, Pakistani forces resorted to unprovoked firing along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Akhnoor sector of Jammu district. The firing is suspected to have been aimed at providing cover for infiltrating terrorists attempting to cross into Indian territory.
During the exchange, an Indian Army official sustained injuries and was immediately evacuated to a medical facility for treatment. His condition is reported to be stable.
The Indian Army gave a befitting response to the provocation, and operations are currently underway in the area to thwart any infiltration attempts. This act of aggression once again highlights Pakistan’s continued support to cross-border terrorism and its disregard for bilateral peace agreements.
Further details are awaited.
