Carrying forward its crusade against the corrupt misdeeds of erstwhile BJP-PDP coalition and the fascist rule imposed in the State by the GoI, Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP and Former Minister said that Panthers party shall hold protests in the Union capital outside Parliament on 2nd & 3rd November against the shocking ‘appointment scam' and for seeking immediate dissolution of J&K Assembly wrongfully kept in suspended animation for political reasons in violation of law. He was addressing a press conference in Jammu today.
Shocked over the most sensational exposures made by the State Governor in the media recently and non initiation of any action against the culprits, Harsh Dev Singh said that mere statements without penalizing the culprits would be meaningless. He said the emergence of insurance scam, the replacement of entire select list of J&K Bank by political appointees and the blatant contempt of court orders in the LC appointments was only a top of the ice-berg with the erstwhile BJP-PDP combine having played a spoilsport in making selections to public services besides its involvement in massive loot and plunder and other scams in various departments including PDD, Health, Forests, , PHE, PWD, Industries, etc. Asserting that the menace of nepotism had been all time high during the previous regime, he said that the political appointees replacing 582 genuine youth selected by J&K Bank on monetary and extraneous considerations broke all records of corruption which narrated a tragic tale of sick governance. Singh sought immediate CBI inquiry into the unprecedented ‘appointment scam' in the history of State. If the culprits were allowed to go scot free, the dangerous situation would trigger another catastrophic agitation, Harsh warned.
Rebuking the Central Government for unconstitutionally keeping the J&K Assembly in suspended animation for over 4 months following the collapse of BJP-PDP combine for serving political interests, Singh said that fascist kind of rule in the State had ruined the very essence of the democracy. He said that in view of no plausible combination of political parties coming forth to claim the formation of the government, the J&K Assembly was being kept under prolonged suspended animation to bestow irregular benefits to the legislators. He further reckoned that in the prevalent situation of political uncertainty, the grant of all perks, amenities, emoluments and CDF to members of suspended Assembly whose rights and privileges stood suspended during the period defined all logic and rationale.
