In a meeting with BOSE Chairman, State Project Director SSA & RMSA and Director Education Jammu here, the Minister asked the BOSE officials to start text services for examination results, so that every individual student will be informed of his/her result through SMS. He also asked the officials to make a timeline for every service so that students will come to know in advance when his/her case will be disposed. He said re-evaluation of answer papers should be strictly completed within 40 days and similar timeline should be fixed for migration and other services. He asked the officials to make use of technology and students should get most of his/her work done through the Board website. He directed the officials to switch over to online mode as soon as possible.
The Minister lauded the officials for smooth conduct and timely declaration of results of class 10 in Kashmir division. The Minister asked them to declare the Class 12 results also within 10 days.
Regarding special scholarship schemes the Minister suggested that the BOSE should undertake massive publicity campaign so that deserving students and parents come to know about the schemes like Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Scheme and National Talent Search exam. He also desired to start coaching programme for competitive examinations at all district headquarters.
The Minister also passed on the directions to ensure new text books are published and distributed without any delay. He expressed satisfaction at the exercise for revamping of curriculum and said that more efforts are to be needed to plug any loopholes. The Minister said that the syllabus for various classes should be updated so as to make them in tune with job needs and to introduce and strengthen vocational subjects.
