JMC demolishes ‘unauthorised’ construction in Sainik Colony area

Tawi, June 17: The Enforcement Team of Jammu Municipal Corporation today demolished what it called unauthorised and illegal construction in Sector D Extension of Sainik Colony area.

According to a press release of JMC, the demolition action is in continuation to the drives against the violators in the areas falling within Jammu Municipal Corporation limits. The demolition of unauthorised construction was carried by the team headed by Rajesh Gupta, Chief Enforcement Officer (C.E.O) Enforcement wing on the direction of JMC Commissioner, Ms Avny Lavasa.

Action is taken against the unauthorized construction which was raised illegally in violation of provisions of Jammu Master Plan, 2032 at Sector-D Extension, Sainik Colony, Jammu. The action has been taken under the provisions of Section 8(1) of the Jammu and Control of Building Operation Act, 1988.

It is also pertinent to mention here that JMC has demolished/sealed a number of unauthorized constructions during the recent past in particular to desist violators from raising the constructions without permission/in-violation of the approved building plans which besides violations causing impediment to the plan development of Jammu City.

The Commissioner, JMC further appealed to the general public to refrain from raising illegal constructions and get building plans approved for commercial and residential purpose and raise building according to approved building plan, failing which action as warranted under Jammu and Kashmir Control of Building Operation Act,1988 and Jammu and Kashmir, Municipal Corporation Act,2000 will be taken against the violators including sealing and demolition of the illegal structures.
