J&K Resident’s last prayers being offered at Gurudwara Kartarpur Sahib

Date:

Sarbjeet Singh
Tawi, September 30:
The last prayers of Sardarni Kushallya Kaur, a resident of Srinagar and mother of IA Plane hijacker Bhai Ravinder Singh Pinka alias Bhai Manjit Singh, will be offered on October 2 at Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib Narowal (Pakistan). She breathed her last at Srinagar the other day. According to the information going around on social media, Sri Akhand Path Sahib started at Gurudwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib at 10 o'clock on Friday in memory of the late Sardarni Kushalia Kaur. Antim Ardas will be performed on October 2 at 10 o'clock.

It is worth mentioning that Ravinder Singh Pinka after serving his sentence in Pakistan jails on the charge of an Indian Airlines plane hijack later acquired a new name of Bhai Manjit Singh. As per reports, he was instrumental in the opening of Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib which was closed after 1947 and got its renovations with decorations.

With the support of Sham Singh, the president of the Pakistan Gurdwara Management Committee, Ravinder Singh took the initiative to enthrone the Holy Book Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji from Sri Nankana Sahib to Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib and revived the daily religious discourse and chanting of Shabd Kirtan therein. The revival of Nit-Name at Gurdwara Sahib pulled the attraction of Sikh Sangat from and abroad. And what followed after that, is history.
