Jawan dies of accidental fire

Rajouri, July 31In two separate incidents, an Army soldier and a BSF jawan died in twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch, on Friday.

According to the official sources, a 23-year-old Army soldier died due an accidental gunshot along the Line of Control (LoC) in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district.

Army was yet to share the details of the incident.

Meanwhile, a BSF jawan died of cardiac arrest along LoC in Mankote area in Mendhar tehsil of Poonch district.

According to the police officer, the BSF jawan identified as constable R Ravindran (43) of 72 battalion suffered cardiac arrest at Songali administrative headquarters at around 9 am on Friday.  He was a native of Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu.
