Kathua, June 19: A youth from Kathua died after drug over doze today, while two others from the same area are hospitalized at Pathankot, Punjab.
According to reports, three drug addicts from Ward No. 4 and 5 of Kathua district had gone to Pathankot. The trio booked a room in a private hotel in the city and intoxicated themselves with drugs. It was then that their condition deteriorated due to the over dose.
They were shifted to the civil hospital, late last night. However, soon after reaching the hospital one of them died, while the other two are under treatment in the same hospital.
The deceased has been identified as Ramesh Kumar alias Nishu, son of Kuldeep Kumar, of Ward No 5 Kathua. His dead body was handed over to his parents for last rites after the postmortem.
The other two were identified as Sanjay Kumar, son of Krishan Chand, also from Ward No 5 Kathua and Ram Kumar of Ward No 4 Kathua.
The duo are undergoing treatment in a civil hospital in Pathankot.
The Pathankot police has registered a case against them and started investigation
