    Indian Army foils major infiltration bid by terrorists in Nowshera sector of Jammu and Kashmir

    In a major success for security forces, the Indian Army was able to foil an infiltration attempt by two terrorists in the Nowshera sector of and . According to official sources, the incident took place in the Lam area of Nowshera where the alert troops gunned down the two terrorists as they tried to sneak into the Indian side from across the border in Pakistan. By intercepting the terrorists during the infiltration bid, the Army is believed to have prevented a major terror attack from being carried out on Indian soil. A search operation launched in the area led to the recovery of weapons and ammunition from the possession of the eliminated terrorists. The Counter Terrorism grid comprising police and Army is constantly vigilant along the border to check any unlawful activities and ensure the safety of citizens. With this successful operation, security forces have once again demonstrated their high level of preparedness and ability to thwart threats posed by infilitrators.
