In Cricket, skipper Virat Kohli's unbeaten knock of 72 runs guided India to beat South Africa by seven wickets in the second T-20 at Mohali last night.
India chased down the victory target of 150 runs in 19 overs, riding on a stunning start by both the openers, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan. Later, Kohli and Shreyas Iyer steered their team to victory. Virat slammed unbeaten 72 runs off 52 balls. Shikhar Dhawan scored 40 runs off 31 balls.
Earlier, put into bat first, South Africa made 149 runs for five wickets with the help of Skipper Quinton de Kock's 52 and Temba Bavuma's 49 runs. For India, Deepak Chahar scalped two wickets for 22 runs. Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja and Navdeep Saini took one wicket each.
The first T-20 was abandoned due to rain and with this victory, India took a 1-0 lead over South Africa in the three-match T-20 series.
The third T-20 between India and South Africa will be played on Sunday at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
