Inaction on Shaheen Bagh led to violence

Date:

As the violence continued to simmer in North East Delhi over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), a shoot-at-sight order is issued in the clashed-hit areas. The orders to shoot the rioters on sight have been issued in the North East district where violence cut a swathe through several localities, including Chand Bagh and Bhajanpura, with stones and other missiles hurled and shops set ablaze.

At least 13 people have been killed and over 180 injured as fresh violence tore through North East Delhi over the amended citizenship law. In view of the continued violence in the city, curfew has been imposed in four violence-hit areas — Jaffrabad, Maujpur, Chand Bagh, and Karawal Nagar — of Delhi.

It is unfortunate that communally frenzied mobsters indulged into large scale violence taking the capital to ransom on the issue that does not pertains or affects to the protestors on CAA.

It is a matter of great surprise that decision-takers and law-enforcing authorities in Delhi observed mute silence on continued illegal blockade of prominent road in Shaheen Bagh in Delhi without taking any action to remove such anti-public blockade as totally illogical protest to Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) passed by the Parliament. At least such protests were totally meaningless in states which have no border with three notified countries listed in CAA namely Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

The character and style of violence in North-East Delhi is indicative of the fact that also has large number of Radical Religious Terrorists in its population. It is time to tackle such elements effectively together with those infiltrated through terror-generating Pakistan. India must realise that there are already many countries in the that have been dealing firmly with such elements in their respective countries.

Unfortunately India is the only country where authorities continue to tolerate communal persons like Akbaruddin Owaisi, Waris Pathan and Assuddin Owaisi without any instant action on their poisonous speeches responsible to create radical religious fundamentalists and provoking Muslims for indulging into violence and hatred.

Delhi Police should be given free hand to deal with all those found indulged in violent activities with Shahin Bagh immediately evacuated through tear-gas and water-cannons. Firmness in dealing with such anti-national elements should not only be adopted but also visible seen in public-domain to create much-desired fear psychology against any such future incidents. Our judicial system is also beyond understanding when even Supreme Court instead of giving clear orders to clear Shahin Bagh of illegal blockade preferred sending interlocutors to play role of mediators which is not within its domain and evidently without any result.
