Health services at Kandi School hailed

The School  Program is becoming very popular in Health Block Kandi where
students are provided holistic health services right in their classrooms.
This program has been going on continuously for the past several months under Dr
Iqbal Malik BMO Kandi and now Every Saturday is celebrated as School Health Day.
The weekly series is being organized under the direction of Director Health Services
Dr Saleem Ur Rahman and Dr Hamid Zarger CMO Rajouri.
The school camps specially cater to the needs of far-flung and difficult areas.
This week health team visited Govt Hr Sec School Peeri and provided health services
to more than 400 students.
Health is an essential component of all round development of children. Thus, not
only screening and treatment of disease is provided but counselling to adolescent
boys and girls is also essential. To counter deficiency, iron & calcium tablets are

distributed among school kids. Deworming of the students using Albendazole and
Lab services including Blood Grouping, HB testing are also provided.
Moreover, awareness regarding use of iodized salt, Mental Health, Anaemia Mukt
Bharat etc. makes an integral part of School Health Program.
The sanitation part is also covered by experts where training for proper technique of
hand washing is demonstrated to the students. Awareness regarding menstrual
hygiene is also given by doctors.
