    Gunfight underway between militants and security forces in Kashmir’s Kupwara

    Srinagar: A fierce gunfight between militants and the security forces broke out on Thursday in Kupwara district of and .

    According to ANI, the gunfight erupted in Karnah sector of the LoC in Kupwara and one army jawan of the 26 Rajput Regiment was injured.

    Troops fired at a group of terrorists trying to infiltrate earlier today forcing them to flee back, the report said.

    The latest clash with the militants comes three days after the security forces had gunned down three terrorists in the same district.

    A large cache of arms and ammunition had also been recovered from the site.

    The slain terrorists reportedly belonged to the Lakshar-e-Toiba terrorist group.

    At least three jawans had also been injured in the clash.
