‘Ranvir Shorey must be selective with roles too': Divya Dutta on actor joining Bigg Boss season 3
Veteran Bollywood actress Divya Dutta has weighed in on Ranvir Shorey's recent comments about facing work shortage leading to his participation in the popular reality show Bigg Boss. Ranvir had mentioned while introducing himself on the show that if he had work, he wouldn't be on the program currently.
When asked about seasoned actors like Ranvir not getting many opportunities lately, Divya said hit factors often dictate the projects top stars sign on to. “There is a constant rotation of new talents attracting producers, similar to how attention shifts between shiny new diamonds. But my consistency could also be because I'm selective with my roles,” she explained.
The Khosla Ka Ghosla famed hinted Ranvir, known for his nuanced performances, might not agree to all offers. “He's such a gifted actor. In the digital age, getting work can't be difficult. But actors have preferences and maybe he's declining specific roles currently,” Divya said.
Work apart, Divya called Ranvir an entertaining person from their collaborations on Manto and Aaja Nachle. “Any scene with him was fun as he's an absolutely brilliant actor,” she commented.
Earlier, Ranvir had told getting meaningful parts in films is challenging, making him prudent in selections. With OTT growth, the artist now hopes to connect with audiences sans third party dependence.
Only time will tell if Bigg Boss assists in giving Ranvir's career the much required boost or becomes a short term diversion. His talent is unquestionable, and fans look forward to more impactful works from him soon.
