    CBI Director-designate calls on Home Minister, Secy

    NEW DELHI: A day after his appointment as Director of CBI, Alok Kumar Verma called on Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi here today.

    The CBI Director-designate's meetings with the Home Minister and Home Secretary were courtesy calls and they exchanged pleasantries only, sources said.

    Verma is expected to take over the charge of Director of CBI only after January 26 as he, as Commissioner of Delhi Police, is at the helm of affairs of the security arrangements for the Republic Day celebration in the capital. (AGENCIES)
