SRINAGAR: After burning of schools, the educational institutions are again threat. This time against participation of students on Independence Day celebrations in Kashmir.
Scores of schools were burnt down by miscreants since last year in Kashmir. The burning of schools had hit the student studies in the valley especially during last year. Now there are threats to schools for sending children to participate in Independence Day celebrations.
A militant commander, Zakir Musa has warned authorities of the educational institutions against “forcing” the girls to participate in August 15 celebrations on Independence Day in Srinagar.
In a purported audio statement, Musa, who was recently named as the leader of the Qaeda-affiliated group Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, said a principal of an educational institution was “forcing” girls to participate in the parade on August 15 celebrations on Independence Day at Bakshi Stadium Srinagar.
“The principal is threatening the girls of issuing them discharge certificates if they don't participate in the parade where they have to exhibit their bodies,” Musa, a former commander of the Hizbul Mujahideen said, in a 4.8 minute video.
He warned the principle not to take girls “forcibly” to participate in the parade at Bakshi Stadium. “Instead forcing our sisters to participate in August 15 celebrations, the principal should take her daughters there,” he said.
He slammed the national media for “defaming” the slain militant commander Abu Dujana.
“After Abu Dujana got martyred, the Indian media defamed him that he was harassing the Kashmiri girls and their parents that are totally baseless allegations. Everyone knows how the Mujahidin are fighting here and people should not believe what the Indian media says,” he said, apparently referring to some media reports that slain Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Abu Dujana was allegedly involved with several women in Kashmir and had even married one of them.
Musa claimed that Indian forces were “scared” to fight with militants in the valley. “The Indian army often says that its brave soldiers eliminate militants here. The reality is militants fight like lions. The Indian army are scared to come into a house when a militant is trapped anywhere,” he said, who severed ties with the Hizbul Mujahideen in May this year, after the outfit trashed his threat to behead separatist Hurriyat leaders.
