BJP to contest LS By-polls in Kashmir!
New dimensions to coalition politics
Jammu, March 15 (KIP):- The decision of the state unit of the BJP to field its candidates in Srinagar and Anantnag Lok Sabha constituencies has given new dimensions not only to the ensuing poll but to the coalition politics.
Yes, the BJP has no standing in the Kashmir valley despite the fact that Ashok Kaul claims a large number of BJP supporters in the valley and in this context is the decision of the BJP to contest the by-poll prove helpful to the PDP or harm it ?
This is a million dollar question which needs deep review. First of all it is violation of the code of coalition because the BJP, if its support could prove harmful to the PDP, it should have not decided to contest the by-poll. When the National Conference and the Congress, the two that have no alliance, have decided to join hands and under the alliance the Srinagar seat is to be allotted to NC and the Congress will field its candidate from Anantnag.
Is the BJP decision to contest the by-poll is simply to hoodwink voters who may believe that the two are not having alliance which is not tenable.
It can be tenable if the BJP snaps ties with the PDP and fight the LS election. However, the mischief behind the BJP plan is exposed when the leadership of the PDP an d the BJP has announced that the coalition Government will last for the full term.If the two plan to retain the alliance and share power what was the need for fielding BJP candidates from Srinagar and Anantnag Lok Sabha constituencies? Let the BJP leadership answer it.(KIP)
