Bharat Ratna to Pranab Da!

It is common grudge among the people of India that the Congress Party having ruled this country for so long had ignored giving due honours to many national heroes and stalwarts by not recognising their contributions and sacrifices over whatever its dynastic rulers did. The Party ignored its top leaders which were considered as challenger to dynastic rule of Nehru-Gandhi family, may it be Sardar Patel or Subhash Chandra Bose. Even body of former Prime Minister PV Narsimharao was not allowed entry in Congress office in New Delhi after his death, what to talk about his state-cremation in privileged area near Rajghat and Vijay Ghat in New Delhi.
BJP government at the centre gave due honour to Sardar Patel through various modes including Bharat Ratna. Now former President Pranab Mukerjee, who was better known as trouble-shooter for Congress party has been honoured with Bharat Ratna. TMC rightly observed that Congress party never made him either party-President or Prime Minister, the posts he deserved the most for saving Congress from continuous downfall.
Dynastic first family of Congress always wanted either member of the family or a dummy person to be posted on these responsible posts. It may be that Pranab Mukerjee might have been seated on ceremonial post of President of the nation by Congress because of some practical compulsion like sudden RTI revelations against the person to whom first family of Congress wanted to make Head of the Nation.
Many see political message in Pranab Mukherjee's choice for top award who remained a lifelong Congress man. Though many men of prominence may deserve this honour too, but one thing is sure that the recognition of Pranab Da cannot be undermined.
Having been one of the country's most respected parliamentarians, Mr Mukherjee proved to be an exemplar in non-partisanship and enjoyed a good rapport with the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“Pranab Da is an outstanding statesman of our times. He has served the nation selflessly and tirelessly for decades, leaving a strong imprint on the nation's growth trajectory. His wisdom and intellect have few parallels. Delighted that he has been conferred the Bharat Ratna,” PM Modi tweeted.
