    Army pays tribute to soldier killed in Handwara

    Srinagar, Sep 22, CNS: Army on Thursday paid homage to Hav Madan Lal who died in a gunfight with militants in Naugam sector of Handwara in Kupwara district on September 20.

    The Chinar Corps Commander Lt Gen Satish Dua and other army persons paid rich tributes to the 37-year-old soldier from the Dogra Regiment, said an army spokesman.

    Hav Madan Lal, who hailed from village Gharota Pathankot, is survived by his wife and two young children.

    His mortal remains would be taken to his hometown where the last rites will be held with full military honours, said the spokesman.
