No increase over 55 PWD divisions in Jammu Kashmir

Minister for Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Law and Justice, Abdul Haq, today said currently there is no proposal for creation of any new divisions at in PWD Department.

While replying to a question of Ramesh Arora, the Minister said there are 27 R&B divisions in Kashmir, 21 in Jammu and 7 in and which look after developmental activities, new schemes and projects under execution.

The Minister informed the House that as per ‘Transfer Policy' notified by the Government, the minimum and maximum tenures of Government Employees at a place have been prescribed as 2 years and 3 years respectively.

He, however, said that officer(s)/official(s) are immediately shifted if any specific complaint is received.

The Minister said there is sufficient staff in PWD to meet the requirements of the Department, adding that 144 vacant posts under Gazetted cadre quota (Civil/Mechanical) stands already referred to PSC.
