Mehbooba says Farooq's statement over stone throwers shows his confusion

Srinagar, Apr 14 (KNS): Reacting to Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah's statement over stone-pelters, Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti Friday said that his statements indicate his confusion.

Talking to reporters at , Mehbooba said, “Dr Farooq seems be confused as he is making the contrary statements regarding the stones throwers. Earlier Dr Farooq called the stone throwers as nationalists and now is alleging them of paid agents of the government.”

“In 2010 unrest, the NC-Congress coalition government alleged that the PDP is supporting the stone-pelters whom the then government was calling as criminals, drug-addicts and anti-nationals. Now in this coalition government, Dr Farooq is calling the same stone-pelters as nationalists, which indicates that somewhere he is confused,” she said.

Pertinently, the National Conference President and former Chief Minister, Dr Farooq Abdullah had alleged that some stone-pelters are “paid by the government to ensure low voter turnout.”

“There are many stone-pelters being paid by the government to create a situation where people don't come out and vote,” he had told reporters on Thursday. (KNS)
