JKP should accept Domicile Certificates in written test: Sukhnandan

Date:

Tawi: Former Minister & BJP Panchayati Raj Cell Convenor, Sukhnandan Choudhary, has appealed the LG administration to direct the J&K Police to issue a corrigendum with regard to an advertisement of March 2019 for recruitment of women constables in border battalions.

Addressing a press conference at party headquarter, along with former MLA Rajeev Sharma and BJP Spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan, Sukhnandan Choudhary said that through an advertisement on March 09, 2019, J&K Police had invited applications for recruitment of women as constables in two border battalions for ten border districts of Jammu and . In response to the said advertisement, women had applied while enclosing copies of Permanent Resident Certificates (PRCs) or under process certificates with the application forms. The candidates were asked to appear in ground test at the time when the state was reorganized after the abrogation of Article 370 and many among them had procured Domicile Certificates. While appearing in ground test, some of them provided copies of PRCs, many came with Domicile Certificates and under process Domicile Certificates.

Domicile Certificates were accepted during ground test then but now before conducting the written test, the candidates have been directed to produce only Permanent Resident Certificates by August 25.

He said that after reorganization of the erstwhile State, Permanent Residents Certificates (PRCs) have no relevance as the people are being issued Domicile Certificates and hence the J&K Police should accept the same from the women candidates appearing in written test.

He informed that the issue has been taken up with the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, ADG/Chairman, Recruitment Board and Commissioner /Secretary, Home, and assured the candidates that the party would see to it that needful is done at the earliest so that no one is made to suffer.
