In a statement to the press, Vikram Malhotra said that the crime rate in Jammu has increased from the last couple of months and the incidents have created a fear among the people.

He said that “The police and civil administration should take steps to curb such incidents as it has become a serious cause of concern for the people especially women.”

He said that two advocates were attacked in different incidents recently and these incidents have increased gradually putting question marks on the police department for their failure to handle the situation.

“There is an atmosphere of fear and insecurity among the people of Jammu who have never seen a situation like this in past. The elements behind the criminal incidents should be arrested and booked under stringent laws to curb the criminal activities,” said Malhotra.
