Kupwara, June 25: The security forces on Friday claimed to have foiled a major infiltration bid along the Line of Control in Tangdhar sector of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
An official said that Kupwara police along with Army’s 7 RR Unit and 87 Battalion of BSF foiled the infiltration bid and recovered arms, ammunition and drugs worth crores at LoC in Tangdhar.
He said that heroin, having a market value of around Rs 30 crore was recovered during the operation.
Meanwhile, Kashmir Zone police in a Tweet said: “Kupwara Police alongwith 7RR and 87Bn BSF foils #infiltration bid at #Tangdhar area. Recovered #arms , ammunition & #drugs left behind by the infiltrators including 01 AK47, 01 Pistol, 02 grenades & other ammunition & 06 packets of #Heroin (market value approx Rs 30 Crs).”
