The ten-day long Ganesh Chaturthi festival which began with traditional fervour at historic Shri Raghunathji Temple on August 31, 2022 culminated today with immersion of idol of Bhagwan Ganesha in the Suryaputri RiverTawishi.
On the occasion, M.K Ajatshatru Singh, Trustee J&K Dharmarth Trust along with his wife Ritu Singh and son Ranvijay Singh, Trustee, performed special Puja Archana of Bhagwan Ganesh at Shri Raghunathji Temple and prayed for the peace and prosperity of the Union Territory.
Ajatshatru said that people should know more about the religion and spirituality as these are vital for inner peace and also peaceful dwelling of human beings living in society.
On the occasion, he informed the devotees that the idol of Bhagwan Ganesha is the replica of the idol placed in Sidhi Vinayak Mandir Mumbai. He said that there are only two similar idols in the entire country and devotees who are unable to visit the temple at Mumbai can pay obeisance at the temple inside Shri Raghunathji Temple housing the idol akin to that of Sidhi Vinayak Mandir, Mumbai.
Senior Advocate Ajay Gandotra, President of the Trust said that ten days ago installation of Bhagwan Ganesha was performed by the Pujaris of the temple as per the rituals thus marking the beginning of the Ganesh Festival. He said that after performing Puja and paying obeisance for ten days, the day of Visarjan has arrived and today the idol was immersion with religious fervour at Tawi Ghat.
The Trust's President said that Bhagwan Ganesha is considered as embodiment of wisdom and widely revered as the remover of obstacles.
