The diverse gathering included students, teachers, senior citizens, PRIS representatives, and religious personalities. Mufti Irshad delivered a poignant speech shedding light on the critical subject of drug addiction and its detrimental effects on individuals and society as a whole. In addition to the Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan program, an Inter-School Volleyball and Kabaddi tournament for U14/U17 boys was organized at the picturesque HK Stadium Gurez. This sporting event aimed to promote physical fitness, teamwork, and healthy competition among the young athletes.
In Zone Jhulla, approximately 300 students, both boys and girls under 14/17, showcased their running skills and endurance in the road race. The challenging route covered a total distance of 8 Kilometres, taking the participants through Jabla bridge to HSS Salamabad. The route was well-marked, ensuring the safety of the runners.
Similarly, in Zone Sopore, the event was flagged off by the Zonal Physical Education Officer. Starting from Amargarh, the road race culminated in BHSS Sopore, with nearly 100 girls under 14/17 participating enthusiastically.
The participants exhibited remarkable determination and a competitive spirit throughout the race. These events provided a platform for young athletes to demonstrate their running skills, fostered a sense of healthy competition, and promoted physical fitness among students.
During the ceremony held after the race, the winners of each category were awarded for their exceptional performances. Sports activities are in full swing in southern districts of Kashmir Division. A group of students from different institutions of district Pulwama was taken to Nature walk over the lush green meadows of world famous wildlife sanctuary Dachigaam on Saturday.
The Contingent was there on the trip under the supervision on DYSSO Pulwama and many other officials of the Department.

Crisp air, the scent of fresh rain, the melodic echo of birds reverberating off tall, lush trees as it will promote better attention spans, self-discipline, creativity, physical fitness, and social connection in students. It can also help to lower the stress levels and make them more engaged in learning. Meanwhile Zone Kakapora and Awantipura organised football tournament for girls. On both the venues a larger participation was recorded.
Both the tournaments were inaugrated by the concerned ZPEOs in presence of the officials of the Department of YSS. Similarly Youth Services and Sports Kulgam's Sports Zone Yaripora conducted an inter-school zonal level competition in the discipline of Volleyball and Kabbadi for Boys under 14 and under 17 categories in the premises of BHSS Yaripora, in which 544 students from various schools of the zone actively participated. During the inaugural ceremony a spacial anti drug pledge was observed to refrain the students from the present day drug menace
YSS Shopian organised a Kabaddi match of girls U/14 and U/17 age group at Zainepora Shopian and Cricket match of U/19 girls in Zone Imamsahib today which was Inaugurated by principal HSS Zainepora who spanking on the occasion impressed upon all to actively participate in games and sports to keep yourself healthy and fit. More than this district Anantnag witnessed a variety of activities.
